Ask questions if you are confused :p kj_yoda 05-17-2006, 12:49 PM Awesome! I'm in... wildeone 05-17-2006, 12:51 PM I have been wanting to setup a place for my own tank journal and family page. This is great! Scott 05-17-2006, 09:47 PM Hmm...I'm debating if I'm in or not....I typically host all my photo's on the server in my living room. But, maybe it'd be better if I started hosting pics with this new benefit.
Rob, for transfering files....do you allow sftp? I typically use WinSCP or some other secure ftp utility to transfer files. gwen_o_lyn 05-17-2006, 10:59 PM Rob, for transfering files....do you allow sftp? I typically use WinSCP or some other secure ftp utility to transfer files.
I'm using LeechFTP if that helps any- I don't know the difference between SFTP and FTP  Rob, for transfering files....do you allow sftp? I typically use WinSCP or some other secure ftp utility to transfer files.
not by default, but i can set it up for you if needed
feel free to try it, you already have the membership. if you try it and find you dont like it or would rather use your own, no harm, we can turn it back off for you.. Scott 05-18-2006, 02:30 PM I'm using LeechFTP if that helps any- I don't know the difference between SFTP and FTP
SFTP = Secure FTP (file transfer protocol)
It actually uses port 22 which is for SSH, thus it's a secure encrypted connection.
Unlike FTP which uses port 21...and I believe everything is clear text.
Most places offer FTP, and a few will offer SFTP. Personally, I like SFTP over FTP.
Dreamweaver will connect with either FTP or SFTP....so I still have a program that will work with FTP. i have started adding FAQ's on this topic.
if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
the FAQs are here
