Here is a picture of my first zoanthids. At the store they all looked orange but when I got them in my tank some of them look green. Very cool!

CarmieJo, beautiful Zoanthids. I purchased a small frag recently as you know and they never opened up for some strange reason. Would you mind sharing your lighting setup info and acclimation procedures with me?

Thanks ZeroCool,
I have a 18w mini pc and a 130w pc. Both have a 10k and an actinic bulb. The small light is on 12 hours per day. The big one is on 5 hours per day. I am increasing the photo period of the big light slowly in order to try to avoid another algae bloom. :)

great zoos. combo rocks are becoming easier to find out where I live. its like getting a bargain. two for the price of one! he he. also, about the zoos. prior dipping in lugols solution usually rids of snails and worms, nudibranchs or other possible zoo pests that make them close up. also, it could be possible of a toxin or other water parameter was out of whack. I can usually tell when to do a water change when the zoos start to look "sad"....great indicator species. as for the algae, if its a new tank....just keep cleaning and it will pass. one of those cycles our tanks go through on the way to maturity. mine went to a bryopsis phase and is finally coming around...

My diatoms have cleared up. Now I have a little bit of HA but my snails seem to be keeping up with it. I just didn't want to encourage it!

Now I can also see that there are actually 3 color combos: Orange with bright orange centers; Green with yellow centers: Orange tentacles with a blue ring and bright orange centers!
