Just found a brittle star in my tank and wondering if they are good or bad. It is white with black stripes, and has a black head(the thing in the middle). its got bristle things so i'm assuming its a brittle star. Its probably a bit a bit bigger than a thumb nail.
cheers in advance!
they are part of your clean up crew in your live rock you will find lots more of them and you may also find small with star fish

agreed...definitely a keeper.
what you have there is what is referred to as a "micro-brittle", and will grow to about the size of a nickel, give or take. they're excellent detritus and suspended particle feeders, and will reproduce in your tank.
