hey yall...
i know the next episode is going to cover zeovits which i think is a product all reef keepers wondered about for a long time. looking forward to it.
oh another product i seen out there that looks promising also is prodibio. like zeovits, i know nothing about it.. maybe that can be a part of the podcast also.
latez.
actually the next show is already recorded, still needs to go through some final editing, but its about done, so i cant get that topic into it.
but will see about that for a future show.
thanks

Yeah, prodibio is pretty cool. I've read a bit about it and it seems to have pretty positive effects. I'm sure that we can have a little series about tank additives (of course other than the mainstream)!

yes reef baby, ive heard lots of positive effects with prodibio, the only negitives i got were from the people who never tried it and think its a scam. im thinking of trying it when i get back from my vacation. it seems simplier and cheaper than zeo.
an additive show will be great.

Hi there
yes prodi is simpler and easier than zeo basic 4. I'v been following the Iwan method for 5 months now and am pleased with the results so far. My tank is no where near as impressive as Iwans, but it takes time and experience to get there, and there is no arguing with Iwan's results in my mind.
I do wonder if the prodi element of the method is missing something compared with zeo basic 4 in that the mulm shaken from the zeolites acts as a food for corals - and we dont get that effect daily with prodi use.
I'm going to try the zeo basic 4 approach in a month or 2 for 6 months to see if there is a practical benefit from the mulm. As far as low nutrient results goes prodi has resulted in o no3 and po4 (merck test).
I know of one user who has gone from zb4 to prodi and hasnt noticed a difference and another who prefers zb4 to prodi so I guess its a question of trying out oneself. I do know that I'd be very happy to have a reef like Iwan's or Alexander's::eek:
Anyways here is a pic of my tank and a summarry of the Iwan method
JME - Cheers

Thanks Simon for contributing your results. (you only forgot to post the link to your tank!) :-)
Could you share a little more with us what you think the big differences between the two methods are? Are you also only using T5s like Iwan? Man...he's got incredible coloration in his tank. Absolutely beautiful! show stopping...

my question is with the notion of purging daily, besides the benificials that are released from to zeolite chamber, is there sedimentry residue that is releasted at the same time?

Oh sorry - forgot:D
1st is before prodi
2nd is 6 weeks after
Third is 16 weeks after with some of the zeo aditives.
Have been running the zeo basic 4 for a week now - too early to assess it fairly but it has pushed some frags to the edge of bleaching in that time...so I'v cut back on the flow and reduced the bacs and bacfood by 1 prop pd. I'll give it 4 months before settling on which is better IME:cool:
