I am new to saltwater but have had freshwater most of my life. Saltwater is way more expensive!

It may be expensive but like john said its a lot more fun and a lot more beautiful. To me its worth it. :D

Ahoy mate! Glad to have you aboard. :up: Salt water is definately more interesting as it is challenging and very rewarding. That combination is addicting in itself. Hang on to your back pocket because your wallet is going to explode! :p

I agree SW is more expensive but like the others I really enjoy the beauty and challenges of it. One of the first things you can do to save money in this hobby is spend a little more. :) Seriously, please spend the money for a basic QT setup. It will save you money and heartache in the long run. There is nothing more disheartening than wiping out a tank due to disease.

We've been to Hickory a couple times and thought it was very nice. Our son's best friend's grandparents live out that way, one set in Hickory and the other in Granite Falls.

I also live in Granite Falls. Small town and small world. We do have our own saltwater fish store though.

I'm impressed that you have a saltwater store! Here I was thinking you'd have to go to Charlotte or someplace. :)
