I got a couple of Koralia 1's for my 30G earlier this week the problem is they make a lot of noise. Its annoying but I wouldn't consider it a problem except for the fact that the tank is right outside my sisters bedroom door:(. Anybody have any problems like this with these pumps or have I done something wrong?.

mine gave me a annoying vibrating noise i noticed that the part where it slides on on the little suction cuo thing was cracked and that was the problem so some glue fixed it

Thanks Pat, I turned them off for the night because it was just too loud and it's unfair to my sister, I sure wouldn't like to have them outside my bedroom door. But I really want to get it fixed tomorrow so I will check and see if there are any cracks then.

I have had 3 different koralia 1's, all have died. Not covered in algae or anything, just stop pumping. Hydor was pretty good about replacing the first 2, but now they will not return my emails about this one. All of these in less than a year. I have decided to change brands.

Is it a clattering noise?

Is the propeller tight against the cog and spinning rapidly?

Does anyone have a good idea on how to get one to work again? My koralia 1 hasn't worked for awhile now. It just stopped. It has happened before, and Hydor replaced it, but they don't want anything to do with me now. Any advise guys?

Keep in mind Koralia pumps will wear out too. The good news is they aren't very expensive, so they can be replaced very easily. I've had a couple just stop working on me, and they all started off by making vibrating noises.

I just bought a set of 2 4's on ebay for $80, can't beat that price!

I would understand if they ran for years or so then died, but this latest one ran for maybe a week. I still have a koralia 3 running fine, knock on wood, but I will not buy them anymore. I am going tomorrow or friday to get replacements and so that I have a spare on hand if one dies.
