Well Im goign to start up my 65g deep aquarium. I have VHO's on it right now and will keep those till I can afford new lights. Ima stick with the VHO's because im going with FOWLR and 1 or 2 bubble tip anemones that will be bout 5 inchs from the top so they wont die. This is the light I plan on getting so let me know what you guys think.

iv heard they decent lights but remember that mh heat up your tank
so with summer coming up you have to take that into consideration
i cant afford a chiller so i cant get mh
the bta will move around no matter what you do until they find a spot they like
hears a link to a article written by dick a fellow refer and a tr sponsor nine-rules (http://theculturedreef.com/nine-rules.htm)

I think that is overpriced like most reef lighting. It is MUCH cheaper to build your own fixture with retro kits. I am not a VHO person but i would be surprised if 2 produced enough light to keep anemones happy over the long haul.

ya theres 4 total of the vho's, i figured they would be ok till my tank is somewhat established with LR. Ya i think i may build my own then well see, thx for letting me know what you guys think

Im skeptical that VHOs would be enough as well. But, you're in luck. Since anemones need mature, well established systems, you'll have plenty of time to upgrade your lights before you get them ;)

lol ya they were free so it doesnt hurt for a FOWLR for bout 6-12 months, looking at buying and buildign a retrofit kit with 2 MH with a chiller, goign to design the hood for the VHO and the MH and run leds for night viewing.

lol curious now, since my 65g is 36 inchs long but pretty deep tank, would 1 MH be better with 2 VHO antics or 2 MH with 2 VHO antics

2 halides is going to be better than 1. The actinics just make things look pretty, they don't help things live and grow.
