Does anyone have any experience with the Hydor Koralia #3 in a 40 gallon breeder? I haven't seen one up close a personal and wonder if they are a little biggish.

For the money I dont really think you can do better than the hydors. Two 3's in a 40 breeder seems about right. Although it really comes down to what you are keeping in there and how your rock structure is set up. But I think that will be a good start and you can always adjust later if need be.

you would want atleast 2 powerheads to help confuse flow, the #3 might be a bit strong but it will keep things moving for sure

I agree with PhotoJohn...I have a #1, #2 and a #3 in my 125. The #3's a pretty powerful. I'd go with 2- #2's. Also the Koralia's come with a removable "collar" that can direct jet flow to anywhere in your tank.

I have a similar situlation. I have a 44G corner with a 3/4" SCWD and 2 Koralia Nanos. I was thinking of adding a little more flow. I was thinking of adding two Koralia 2s.

I have 2 K3s in my 75 one on each end that I alternate using a timer. Every 15 minutes they switch sides.
