I know, Tunze, Tunze, Tunze. But I have low funds, a mortgage, kids and a wife.

What about Seio pumps? Are they a good alternative? Is there anything that is about the same cost as a seio that performs bettter?

Thanks!

i have a SEIO and have been happy with it, you are right, its no Tunze, but they do work quite well.

some people report periodic issues, but all in all, i have had mine for a LONG time, and it has worked flawlessly

Great, sounds like that is what I will go with. I finished up your podcast interview with Steven Pro today and you both spoke of how flow is as important if not more important that lighting. So I decided I would pick up a couple Seio 1100 to go with my Aquaclear 70's, giving me a total flow from powerheads of 3000 gph or close to 20X (not counting the return).

I had a really bad experience with TAAM's customer no service.

perfect.
yes, flow is critical.
a tank can go a few days without light, but water flow must be there..

its like a person can go weeks without food, but only a few days without water.

I have a 620 and 820 in my 55 gallon, and I've never had a problem. Those guys really put up some flow.

yes, that they do, however, be advised
when you install them and "feel" the flow, it will not feel as strong as you might expect.
its important to understand that SEIOs, like Tunze have a large aperture output.
which means they output a lot of water, but through a large opening. this is great for wide dispersal, and help prevent that "jet" you might get from a maxi-jet or something.
also keep in mind SEIO pump are NOT meant for wavemakers

so the seios dont work with wavemakers?? does it come with one to simulate random current??

does ne1 have links with the seio in action or pics is cool.
thanks

no, they dont work with wave makers or have any randome flow simulators.

which one?
if you can afford Tunze, do it...
if not, then you go with SIEO... :)
