Not ready for it quite yet, but looking to get some opinions/recommendations for replacement T-5 bulbs for a 4x54w setup. It is the Marineland T5 Deluxe HO Strip with 2 T5 daylight bulbs rated at 6500K, as well as two actinic bulbs rated at 8500K each.

So far I am impressed with the light, I got if for a steal at $150 brand new and while it doesn't have the individual reflectors, it seems to do a great job. I usually run it with 2 hours of actinic, 8 hours of actinic/white, 2 hours of actinic.

My tank has been running for 4 months with LR, sand, and a modest clean up crew. I am planning on some tabling acropora, Pocillopora and maybe some favia (i'm just going with 3 species and looking to build some larger colonies and keep the chemical warfare to a minimum). And of course some fish ;)

What are some recommended bulbs by brand? How about 6500K vs. 10K whites or a combo of one of each? What about 420 vs 460nm actinics?

I know nothing about T5 bulbs, but there is an awesome thread on RC headed up by a guy named "The Grim Reefer" who offers educated T5 combo suggestions to the throngs of posters. You may get you answer just by reading some past posts there:
