Was a good episode.
so...a n00b question then.....will Zoanthids and mushrooms eat/benefit from phyto and rotifer's? I'm thinking of maybe trying the 'mad chemist' inside of me. ;) yep.. as stated, pretty much everything will eat them.. :)
will they do fine without them? probably, but additional food source can be a good thing.. :) Scott 04-14-2006, 11:28 AM Ok, just never thought the zoanthids or mushrooms "ate" anything else. I'll try my mad scientist thing in late May after SWU when I have more time. Thanks! lol.. yeah they do..
it might be worth it to try using soemthign liek DT's at first to see if you can tell an effect..
just to make sure your time and money go to a good thing.. :) Scott 04-14-2006, 11:43 AM I'll see if LFS even carries something like that. I may have to resort to the Internet for getting DT's. I just have to remember....DT's are concentrated....
...there's just something wrong talking about wanting to get DT's...... ;) yeah, it is concentrate, and most LFS have it..
its a good palce to start. Albatros 04-14-2006, 05:00 PM Another great show Rob ... thanks and keep it up :)
John

Just got back from LFS...and they did have some. I had to ask, they had it hidden behind the counter. Already put some in, so we'll see how the next few weeks go. Hopefully I may even see some changes over that time. yea, its usually kept in there "hidden fridge"..lol
just make sure you dose per the directions.. its important to feeding light so you dont shock the tank Scott 04-14-2006, 10:40 PM yeah, it said 1 tsp per 15 gallons......well, that's all I used for my 26. So I don't think I over did it. :D it should have also said that if this is the first time you have feed phyto, use half the recommended dose for the first week or so... Scott 04-14-2006, 10:58 PM Yup, it did mention that too. :)
Now once I get used to all this...in a month or two.....I'll look at culturing my own, and giving those rotifer's a try too. Gallandro 04-15-2006, 02:09 PM Just catching up, found you on referal and listened to all the past shows ! Great stuff. What happened to the Co Host from the UK ? gwen_o_lyn 04-15-2006, 07:37 PM Welcome to TR Gallandro!!
I believe Matt from the UK got tied up with family life since he recently had a baby- I don't think Rob has spoke to him in awhile. Kevin McG 04-15-2006, 08:30 PM Good podcast Rob, all my questions were answered. |
