VHO's vs T5's

I have an ice cap 660 ballast with 4 vho lights. I want to use T5's instead. I have read they use less power and create less heat. Is this true? How and what do I have to change to be able to use the T5 bulb?

pretty much just the endcaps, but be sure to get T5HO bulbs and not regular T5 bulbs. the ballast will overdrive the regular T5s and severely shorten the life of them.
