I got a $10 frag of clove polyps and they are growing out of control! They are reaching from rock to rock. Any hints?
My first thought was to grab a razor and just start picking them off of the rock. I'd like to avoid breaking up the rock if possible. I'd also like to avoid pulling the rock from my DT.

I've not kept them but I think that you could treat them like zoas and use a razor blade.

Yes, you can just cut the mat with a razor and peel it off the rock. I love my green clove polyps, but I learned the hard way they should be on their own rock not touching any other rocks. They'll start to grow out across the sand, but then they're much easier to trim back.
