hello,
sorry for the delay in response, i have been out of town for a few days.
The basic rule is the larger the tank the easier it is to care for. now it also gets more expensive as you get larger. the best size for a new commer to start with is a 55 gallon tank. the smaller you get the more work it will be and the harder it will be to keep it stable. if you need to go smaller, i wouldnt recommnd anythign smaller than a 29/30 gallon tank. any smaller than that i consider a nano tank.

i know you mentioned you want a nano tank, but they really are much harder to keep. if you dicide to go smaller, it will require lots of homework, and LOTS of patience.

Please let me know if you have any more questions
