no way! You got the new intel? I'll be interested to hear how you like it. After listening to one of the last maccasts (thanks for the link, btw), we decided to wait until 2007, since most of the software (for instance Photoshop) won't be intel-ready until 2007. So, please, let me know how you like it!
I figured out the linking problem...it was a setting on our iDisk preferences. .mac is great. Georg got me my own email address (reefbaby) for my birthday, because he got so sick of our family email mailbox full of TalkingReef emails alerts! He he :-) Now that I've figured out the iDisk problem, it's actually pretty great. I think we have like 500MB of space on the iDisk and we can mix and match how we like with the email accounts, so rather than using PhotoBucket, I can use the iDisk instead.

yeah, its great so far...
i will start a new discusssion lounge thread.. so we dont clog up this thread with Mac stuff... ;)

Yes, CarmieJo, it's my new camera, although I'm still figuring out how to get good shots. The tripod I've got isn't stable enough to hold this heavy camera, so I'll need to get a new one to support the weight. Then, I think I can work with different f-stops to get more in focus...

I'm trying to learn PS right now.. just following some online tutorials. I'm interested in the web design stuff :)

I've had a class in photoshop, started taking a web design class via the web...just haven't had time to get back to the classes for the certificate (bummer...AAS is only available on site).

Of course, you know about the podcasts (audio and video) some have out there covering photoshop...

I learned Photoshop & Illustrator by just doing it on the fly. It's very tool oriented & up to now I still discover different tools that I can use. It's fun
creating & editing stuff.

Rob..I got the idea from one of the canvas painting I did awhile back. I was using acrylic paint & I forgot to lay a clear coat on it. As the painting aged it started to crack & had a similar look to the photo I edited. I think I'll use this as my new avatar.

yeah, it actually was that filter.....the other 20+ I tried just didn't have the same result. :rolleyes:

Exactly... a few tweaks with saturation, sharpen the edges, and then finish with the filters in Adobe called "Artistic/watercolor".

Photoshop is a great tool. In my opinion, it's one of those softwares you've just got to jump in and start playing with. It's amazing how much you can do and how much is actually already prepared! And there's tons of photoshop add-ons out there for cool graphics.
