...gotta love Photoshop! :-) awesome christi...
i love it
(btw, i just got .Mac with my new intel iMac.. :D ) Reefbaby 04-02-2006, 05:56 PM no way! You got the new intel? I'll be interested to hear how you like it. After listening to one of the last maccasts (thanks for the link, btw), we decided to wait until 2007, since most of the software (for instance Photoshop) won't be intel-ready until 2007. So, please, let me know how you like it!
I figured out the linking problem...it was a setting on our iDisk preferences. .mac is great. Georg got me my own email address (reefbaby) for my birthday, because he got so sick of our family email mailbox full of TalkingReef emails alerts! He he :-) Now that I've figured out the iDisk problem, it's actually pretty great. I think we have like 500MB of space on the iDisk and we can mix and match how we like with the email accounts, so rather than using PhotoBucket, I can use the iDisk instead. yeah, its great so far...
i will start a new discusssion lounge thread.. so we dont clog up this thread with Mac stuff... ;) Amphibious 04-02-2006, 07:43 PM That's really neat stuff, Christi.
Dick kj_yoda 04-02-2006, 10:16 PM awesome job christi CarmieJo 04-02-2006, 11:50 PM Great image! Taken with the new camera I presume? Reefbaby 04-03-2006, 03:00 AM :-) Thanks guys! I was fooling around with the image in Photoshop and came up with that..
Yes, CarmieJo, it's my new camera, although I'm still figuring out how to get good shots. The tripod I've got isn't stable enough to hold this heavy camera, so I'll need to get a new one to support the weight. Then, I think I can work with different f-stops to get more in focus... pham411 04-04-2006, 12:43 AM wow, it would be krazy if there were zoaz that color!! all you gene scientists out there. get kracking!!! hehe Scott 04-04-2006, 11:15 PM Christi, great use of Photoshop. Looks really cool. Maybe one day I'll figure it out enough to come up with some cools pics like that. :-) gwen_o_lyn 04-04-2006, 11:44 PM I'm trying to learn PS right now.. just following some online tutorials. I'm interested in the web design stuff :) Scott 04-04-2006, 11:50 PM I've had a class in photoshop, started taking a web design class via the web...just haven't had time to get back to the classes for the certificate (bummer...AAS is only available on site).
Of course, you know about the podcasts (audio and video) some have out there covering photoshop... DJGonzo69 04-05-2006, 03:40 PM I learned Photoshop & Illustrator by just doing it on the fly. It's very tool oriented & up to now I still discover different tools that I can use. It's fun
creating & editing stuff. DJGonzo69 04-05-2006, 04:16 PM Here is one I edited in PS.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y151/gonzobatteries/TorchArt1.gif awesome...
you guys rock..
Gonz,
i love the texture.. it almost makes it look like a puzzle.. :) DJGonzo69 04-05-2006, 04:36 PM Rob..I got the idea from one of the canvas painting I did awhile back. I was using acrylic paint & I forgot to lay a clear coat on it. As the painting aged it started to crack & had a similar look to the photo I edited. I think I'll use this as my new avatar. Scott 04-13-2006, 11:31 PM Ok, here's one I played with tonight....not super fancy, but it's a start/attempt.

you mean it wasn't the "make corals look cool" filter?? ;) Scott 04-14-2006, 11:38 AM you mean it wasn't the "make corals look cool" filter?? ;)
yeah, it actually was that filter.....the other 20+ I tried just didn't have the same result. JustDavidP 04-14-2006, 11:44 AM http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d176/JustDavidP/watercolorboy3.jpg Scott 04-14-2006, 11:49 AM Dave, that's pretty cool. makes me think it's a watercolor painting! JustDavidP 04-14-2006, 12:10 PM Exactly... a few tweaks with saturation, sharpen the edges, and then finish with the filters in Adobe called "Artistic/watercolor".
I love them...

Look at all this artwork that happened while I was gone!
Gonz - love the canvas look and it makes a great avatar! Hmm...maybe I should do the same....
Scott - wow! We should mate your zoos with mine! :-)
Photoshop is a great tool. In my opinion, it's one of those softwares you've just got to jump in and start playing with. It's amazing how much you can do and how much is actually already prepared! And there's tons of photoshop add-ons out there for cool graphics. Scott 04-19-2006, 05:31 PM Christi.....WELCOME BACK!!! We missed you!
yeah, those zoos would look really cool! Reefbaby 04-19-2006, 05:35 PM Woooohhhh Dave!! Sorry - the first time I looked at the thread, for some reason I missed the last page or something...didn't see your beautiful ponies! love the watercolor effect!
Scott - thanks! It's good to be back! :-) DJGonzo69 04-19-2006, 10:56 PM Yeah Welcome back Christi!! Hopefully you had a great & restfull time on your vacation :-) |
