Hi,

Has anyone tried using the Prizm Deluxe Skimmer in the sump instead of hanging it. In order to get the 4 inches below waterline requirement, my sump would overflow if there was a power outage (40 gallon tank/20 gallon Sump). If you can't put it in the sump then has anyone else had the same problem water level and have any sugestions?

Thanks for any help,

Mark

Hi Mark and :welcome: to TR!

I've never used the Prizm skimmer but I am sure that someone with experience with it will chime in here.

hi mark:D

i have recently gone against the flow and got a prizm :o100gallon model cheap to replace an air driven skimmer i was using
in my nano. the water line is 2" below on my setup and it skims great dark and dry i think the 4" stated in the user manual is a maximum rather than a recomended water level, many people use them in sump as this makes them much less noisy the person i got mine off used it in sump on his setup

Thanks microbius,

I messed with the baffle in my sump so that the water level on the skimmer side is about 2 1/2 inches below the edge, and it seems to be doing alot better. I have about a 1/4 of an inch of dark stuff in there now.

Thanks again

Mark
