Well I have decided that I am not going to re-setup my 55 Gal.

I have thought about a 6 ft long tank since I would really like to have a blue tang at some point in the future and I have read they like the 6 ft swimming area.

I am planning on a FOWLR tank, with a variety of smaller fish(Clowns, cardinals, ...)

Have been leaning towards a 125 Gal, but I do have a lead on a 175 Gal Oceanic bowfront at a good price. Not sure I want to go that big. (Will change the basement design since I was going to build in the 125).

Any pros / cons on either of these choices.

By the Way....The wife said just get what I wanted the 1st time so I am covered on that one.....:agree:

Nice wife ;)

IMO, go as big as you possibly can. Not only will it keep you from wanting to upgrade, but th larger water volume goes a long way towards keeping thinngs stable, and you can fit more fish in a 175 than you can in a 125. I'm not a huge fan of the optical distortion present in bowront tanks, but that's strictly personal preference.

I AGREE? Go as big as you can the first time. I upgraded to a 125 a couple of years ago and now I am planning another upgrade, to a 200. Iguess you can blame the next upgrade on the addiction to SPS corals !! ;)

I agree with Phurst on the optical distortion of the bow front. I personally don't like them either. But I would still work towards getting the 175. One thing that wasn't mentioned that I'm sure you've probably thought of (but I will mention it anyway because ya never know) is the bigger tank will have some added depth which gives you a lot more freedom when setting up the rock work. The options of stacking increase a lot with the extra 4 inches or so.
