Hello!!!! I am very excited to be a member. I have been listening to the podcasts for the last few weeks, and this site is fantastic. I am a newbie to saltwater, and I am barely started. I am in my planning phase now. I ran across this website that hosts fish husbandry courses online, and would like feedback on whether this is worth the time and money. it was from the marine aquarist courses online.
If this is the wrong place to post this question, let me know, and will correct myself for the next time. Again, thank you and I look forward to chatting with everyone. Keep up the great work!!

I found that site (Marine Aquarist Courses Online (http://www.aquaristcourses.org/)) and would say, why pay for something that you can get for free right here. I couldn't find the price of the courses, couldn't find how to register. It's run by Reef.org another good forum (Not as Good as TR, though.). If you keep listening to the Pod Casts and bring your questions to us, you will flatten your learning curve considerably and save money along the way. This is an expensive hobby and I think I can speak for everyone on TR, even the sponsors, we will help you from making mistakes IF you bring your questions to us before you buy something.

I should warn you about one thing that will seem strange to you. The worst place to seek advice is your local fish store (LFS). There are a few good ones but too many are not good. Others here will support that view. there are horror stories to be heard.

Anyway, Anne, we're glad you found us, we're here to help you over the reef bumps.

Dick

Thank you for your suggestion. I thought the same thing, the podcasts I have listened to are filled with great information. This is a excellent resource for the reefing community.
Any other questions, you will be sure to hear from me. Talk to you guys later!! Have a great day!
