Ok, I'm a little P/O'd. I just finished acclimating a very nice feather duster this afternoon. Everything was great, it hat its head out and it was doing what ever it is that feather dusters do. Now I to check on it and find my Narcissus munching away!! There was a piece of the worm left at the end of the burrow, but I assume he's a goner. Yhis might explain what happened to all the other worms in my tank, except for the Coco, (??) that has a hard tube and a trap door.

So now what can I do? Will the worm piece have a chance if I put it in the fuge/back chamber of my BC8? There is no sand for it to form a tube, but there is a lot of Cheato.

What do you guys/girls think??

Now I'm MAD!! The snail just started looking for and found the piece that was left!! Maybe i should feed the tank more?? My Clowns seem to be fine, but I hate to loose all the worms. I put the chunk that the snail missed in the fuge, at least it won't get eaten!!

the only thing i can think of is that the feather duster must have had SOMETHIng wrong with it. i have never heard of a snail eating a duster that was healthy, but if it was ill ... that is the snails natural behavior.

That's what I thought, but I can't see what would be wrong. It looked fine in the LFS tank, it was even open in the container as I acclimated it.

Maybe the snail is hungry? I have been trying to cut down on the feeding, I was feeding a lot!! I also added a peppermint shrimp a month or so ago, Competition??

We'll see, maybe the piece I saved will be enough to get me a new worm in the fuge. How/do these worms regenerate?

im not absolutely sure, but i think they regenerate like an iguanas tail. the missing piece grows back.
