I am currently looking into buying a used sunpod MH from a buddy he has a 2x250 and a 2x150 I am wondering if the 2x250 would be to much for my 75 gallon. I am currently just keeping soft corals right now I am worried about the light being to much and cooking them. Any suggestions would be really helpful

no, it would be great if you want to get into SPS or other light demanding corals. i know a lot of people that run 2x250s on 75s.

one of my good friends had leathers, zoas, LPS, and SPS in a 75 with 250s. i would acclimate the lights to the tank using the screen method.

my friend ran 3 small computer fans on the tank. 2 in the top, pulling heat out and 1 blowing cooler house air into the tank from the back.

screen method ... place 3 layers of FIBERGLASS door screen on the tanks top. remove 1 layer per week to acclimate the corals to the new lights. works like a charm.
