I have a 100-gallon mixed reef tank that has been up and running for over two years. I want to add a diamond goby and I have tried to do as much research about it as I could but there is not much information out there. The guy at the lfs assures me they don't have any special feeding requirements but I had a friend that had one in his tank for over 6 months. Then it got all sucked up and died, almost as if it starved to death. He then put in another one and the same thing happened.

My question to all of you is, are there any special feeding requirements for the diamond goby?

I have an orange spot, which is a very similar fish. It sifts the sand, and also picks up little scraps of mysis of the sandbed when I feed. I don't believe either one has any special requirements.

THe only thing I have heard is you should have a large, well established sandbed, with lots of little critters in it, or the goby possibly could starve. However, I have never had one myself. They are really neat fish. I have watched them at the LFS, seem to have a lot of character.
