Today I bought a devil's hand leather. I put it into the tank and my nepethia "capnela" I think is what it's called balled right up. Is this a defense posture, becuase of the Devils hand? It's about 6 inches away from the nepethia.

Leathers can be quite toxic, especialy if it's "up stream" from the kenya tree. It might adjust just fine, but you might need to move the leather or the kenya tree. Running carbon if you aren't already will also help.

could be a chemical response. I have seen my large Kenya retract for a week at a time when its not happy...it always bounces back though. You may want to do a water change in the next day or so if you can. Just in case the stressed Devil's released something.

MY Kenyas like a little flow that gently move their branches. It appears to help them expand to their fullest. I love my trees. :D
