So, I saw a link posted by Gimmito over on Danamck's tank thread about the Marine Aquarium Expo that's happening this weekend in Costa Mesa, CA. Turns out it's about 5 minutes from my house!
I'm planning to go on Saturday and am looking for tips from those that have attended this expo or others like it in the past.
I'm attending with my 3 year old son and hope to make it through to the raffle on Saturday, but we'll have to see how it goes.
Thanks!

Bring good walking shoes/sneakers (MACNA Kills my feet), more money than you thought you'd spend, be polite to vendors and learn as much as you can and bring a pocket full of plastic shopping bags and take as many "sample" products as you can ;)

Are these types of events good for picking up livestock? I was planning to place an order tonight for some fish, but am thinking it might be fun/cool to pick them up at the expo instead. Thoughts?

I know MACNA was a good opportunity to pick up livestock. If this is 5 minutes from home, I'd shop there :)

I went to the Orange County Marine Expo on Saturday. My wife and I went in and out a few times switching between that and the OC Marketplace flea market. (Beer and Habenero Pickles FTW!!) But it was cool. It was frag central, lots of fraggers selling their coral frags. Not much for sale as far as fish go. A few local stores had representation. Seemed like all the big companies were there. Bought a couple mushrooms polyps for 20 bucks just to see how they'd do in my tank. So far they seem to be doing great. Got lots of literature. Good times.
