LOL. Every week, we kids had to convince my father to turn off Lawrence Welk so we could watch Wild Kingdom. Later, my father was hooked on Hee Haw! and The Muppet Show. lReef lKeeper 03-29-2008, 11:29 PM FRAGGLE REEF ... i mean ROCK. FRAGGLE ROCK !! Amphibious 03-30-2008, 08:01 AM Oh you guys are going way back... Let me tell you about waaaay back. Back before HDTV, before color TV, black and white TV, back in the good old days of RADIO. There was, The Green Hornet, Superman, Gene Autry, The Lone Ranger, Boston Blackie, Dragnet, The Jack Benny show, The Bob Hope Show, Abbott and Costello, The Marx Brothers, Amos and Andy, The Aldrich Family, The Andrew Sisters, Bing Crosby, Blondie, Gunsmoke, The Shadow......
I could go on. You youngsters weren't even a gleam in the old man's eyes, yet. :rotfl:
Oh, the good old days, you can have them! I like it here and now! Of course back then I grew up in COLD WI. Now, I live in WARM FL.
Dick JustDavidP 03-31-2008, 11:41 AM I'm not that old :) But then again, I'm not at a place in life where I can retreat to Florida with my love, and live out my dreams...
D Skurvey Dog 03-31-2008, 08:06 PM Yeah Dick, no fair! Some people have all the luck! J/K :love!: FRAGGLE REEF ... i mean ROCK. FRAGGLE ROCK !!
Wow that takes me back. Ya like 15 years. To when my younger brother was like 3 years old. Wow was it that long. Now I going to start to think that I'm getting old here. :rotfl: CarmieJo 04-06-2008, 11:56 PM We used to all go to the common area of our dorm on Tuesday (I think) evening to watch Mork & Mindy! Skurvey Dog 04-07-2008, 07:07 AM And I didn't want to tell Bobby that my kids when they were little watched Fraggle Rock and I would tape it for them on our brand new 2 head vcr! lReef lKeeper 04-07-2008, 07:25 AM MY mom TAPED it for us too !! laurabolyard 04-07-2008, 11:30 AM ive kept silent long enough!! My first crush was Jimmy on H.R. Puffinstuff (I still have nightmares about witchypoo though!) Skurvey Dog 04-07-2008, 07:43 PM Lol... that's pretty good Laura. I adored Gumby and Pokey, Fractured Fairy Tales, Wally Gator and all the cartoons. Who remembers Bozo the Clown and Captain Kangaroo? And who can possibly forget that Japaneese show that came on all the time with monsters and Godzilla! :rotfl: I think that the Power Rangers was a spin off from that show. Made quite an impression on my lil pumpkin, heck I still love cartoons! Besides, I think Sean Connery was the sexiest James Bond that ever lived. He gets better with age and love that accent too. I hope I fossilize that well. laurabolyard 04-07-2008, 10:06 PM Funny, I bet mr. green jeans (could you tell if they were green in black and white?) wasnt as old as I thought he was at the time. When sesame st first came out, I was five, mom had a halloween party and big bird showed up green, they discovered, apparently the color was screwed up on his tv! Skurvey Dog 04-07-2008, 10:51 PM That is too funny Laura! :tongue2: CarmieJo 04-09-2008, 11:30 PM LOL, anyone but me old enough to remember Romper Room? Skurvey Dog 04-10-2008, 07:08 AM Romper Room sounds very familiar. I see black and white? Just can't get a metal picture going there just yet. :D Gumby and Pokey keep getting in the way. JustDavidP 04-10-2008, 12:38 PM Romper Room....of course..AND... having a simple name like "David", I was often "seen" by Miss Mary Ann in the "Magic Mirror" :) i like sanford and sun =]
