A new Perfecto, 56 Gallon Column :D It's 30X24X18. It's going where the old bowfront was. Next... to the carpentry shop... gotsta build me a canopy!
I'll keep you all posted.
OH.. and thank you to Michelle and Aly at Skipton's Pet in Boston for working with me to order this system. If you have an option to shop in Beantown, you HAVE to check them out... both the store and the gurls ;)
Dave JustDavidP 03-13-2008, 02:47 PM Oh...and mine has a corner overflow on the left. It's gooing to have a 250W MH and 2X55 PC Actinics, DSB, and is going to be the tank that will be plumbed through the floor and into the infamous... SUMPZILLA!!
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d176/JustDavidP/CuringRock.jpg JustDavidP 03-13-2008, 02:48 PM That's going to mean more than 100 total gallons *giggle* and some serious skimming etc. I'm dyin' to get this going.
Dave Phurst 03-13-2008, 03:41 PM Looks like an awesome project. Can't wait for the build thread! Skurvey Dog 03-13-2008, 04:36 PM Love the tank Dave! You did a good job picking it out but.... you should have been indecisive in choosing the tank.... that way you could of seen the gurls more than one time! :tongue2: Love your aqua lab, wish I had more room! Keep us posted and hurry and get that puppy started as I know it will be a real beute when you're done. lReef lKeeper 03-13-2008, 06:08 PM man, where are the pics of the GURLS ??!!
glad to see my tax money paying for something that one of my fellow reefers can do something with !! i finally feel a little better about paying in all those tax dollars. CarmieJo 03-13-2008, 08:52 PM Yippee! A new tank! I'll look forward to seeing your build. poppin_fresh 03-13-2008, 09:03 PM just curious... why did you choose that particular size tank? JustDavidP 03-13-2008, 10:28 PM just curious... why did you choose that particular size tank?
Curious is good...it's what started us off keeping these critters in glass boxes ;) Let me 'splain...
The system needs to go here:

The last available footprint in my home. That's a 20 gallon (my first reef.. can you say "awww") in the same area. It's only 34 inches wide between the windows. The tank I'm getting has a 30 inch width, and with stand, is 32 and some change.. as much per inch as I can get in the space.
Fair enough?
Dave lReef lKeeper 03-13-2008, 10:37 PM where are the pics or the GURLS ??!! come on man, you can not tease the guys around here like that !! lol JustDavidP 03-13-2008, 10:44 PM You kill me Bobby..
I can't post their pictures or they'd kill me. Lets just say that Michelle is an adorable and bright, young asian woman. Alyson is just as smart..and just as much a looker ;)
Both are "Skiptonauts", some of Skipton's finest. Both are professional and great gals.
Dave JustDavidP 03-13-2008, 10:45 PM But if you go to Boston Reefer's web site, and look up "Alycat" and "genkireefer" you may find piccies of the ladies. poppin_fresh 03-14-2008, 05:55 PM Dave,
great idea measuring the space you have and buying the tank that fits there! I did like most others, bought the tank and then tried to figure out which wall it would fit on. :D Skurvey Dog 03-14-2008, 09:59 PM Yeah Poppin, I know what you mean. Nothing like a little razzle dazzle and seduction of a new reef. :D Gets me purringggggggg like a kitten! JustDavidP 03-15-2008, 11:09 PM My first BIG reef was in my basement. It was a beauty, but I didn't get to see it often. It's kind of the kids' cave down there. This tank is right accross from my easy chair :)
