125 reef ,1female maroon clown,as it is quite large for a clown and very dark in color almost black. She tears the tentacles of her sebae ,also does this to the little condy. What is her deal? And will this kill the sebae? She took to it in about 20 min.when I put it in.Has anyone encountered this?

She likes to play rough? Seriously, no I haven't ever seen this behaviour. Is the anemone remaining in good health through this?

I just got the sebae,I've seen this clown do this before to the little condies with no harm done ,that I can see any way.
Looks painful and it can't be a good thing.I am puzzled as to why she does this.It bothers me to see this behavior. The sebae wasn't very costly but this isn't the point ,the sebae is a living creature,I'm sure it is thinking of filling assault charges. But seriously ,Id like to hear from any-one who could shed some light on this problem.
Thank you amphibious for your reply and to any-one else with knowledge on this subject.

Penny,
I have 2 ocellaris clowns and 6 rbta's on one rock.
They will suck/bite the tentacles and eventually tear off a little piece.
I believe it's quite normal behavior, just keep an eye out on you anemone.
Here's a pic.

I have. My clown is a maroon, large. My last anemone was being treated the same way. Clown would pull off deflated tentacles. It was love at first sight, so that was not an issue. This anemone didnt look too well to me from the start, as some of my older threads would show. I ended up taking it back before too long because my lighting wasnt going to be enough. I upgraded lighting and bought another sebae, knowing how to choose better this time as well. No problems with this one. No pulling off tentacles. How long have you had your anemone? The pic on my signature is my last one, not my current one. laura

Laura,
I got my rbta from a fellow reefer about 2 years now and it has since split 5 times.
It has never moved from the rock I put it on... knock on wood ! :D
I'm probably going to sell/trade a couple b/c it's starting to grow on another rock.
