It has been a really long winter, I'm sick of moving snow and they are calling for 6-10 more inches tomorrow!!! Here are some pics from tonight.

Here is a pic of my (dirty) Silverado...the snow banks are almost as tall!

Heres the front porch. The dog is noticing that the snow bank is an obvious fire escape hazard.

Good grief, where the hades are you? Alaska????????? :o I have never really understood how a warm blooded individual could live in an unfriendly environment like that. I guess it's just where you were born. I myself would expire in less than 2 hours of having to endure weather like that. You need to move down South my friend where the climate is mild and the margarita's are chilled to perfection. Where open toed shoes are wore all year long and the favorite reignment is a t shirt and kakis.

Got to love Louisiana. It is 60 degrees right now. I have not seen snow in five years.

It has been 70-80F in Socal over the past week. *Gloat*

Seriously, after a few years of living with Southern Californian weather, one day I realized how my disposition was generally more cheery than during my Northeast (Rochester NY, Providence RI) years. My wife also comes from the Northeast (Queens NY). We long ago made a pact never to travel back east after Thanksgiving or before Passover since we are now such "wimps" when it comes to harsh weather.

I sympathize with your plight, but at least you live in a beautiful corner of the US...

poppin_fresh,

You are looking a bit defiant with your arms folded. It looks to me like the dog is wondering, "My Master taught me not to p on the porch, now where am I going to go?". I have the perfect picture to post but some may take offense to it, TR being the family oriented site it is. So, I'm sending it in a PM to you. It came from my brother who lives in far Northern WI. Where they are up to their eyeballs in snow, too.

Interesting for global warming proponents, I heard on the news a few days ago, scientists are predicting the earth may be going into a global cooling period for the next few years. It's all cyclical my friends.

I moved to FL from WI a couple of years ago and hardly a day goes by without my wife saying, "Another day in paradise". We're in a little cool spell right now, it's 63 degrees this morning, probably get to 78 this afternoon.

Ah yes, another day in paradise.

Dick

Better then Ohio Carmie, as you know here is only snows 3 or 4 inches overnight, people panic and drive in the ditch on the way to work, then it gets to 50 in the afternoon and is a sloppy muddy mess, then we do it all over again. The only people who make out are the car wash owners.

Well, my advice to anyone who has to deal with all that snow is to follow rule #1 Frank Zappa laid out for us. Doooodleeeeleedoodleeeleeeedddooooohh...... "Don't eat yellow snow"

My father used to have a plow on his GMC truck when I was a kid. He would back his truck into the garage during the winter so he could simply lower the plow and drive out of the garage when it snowed.

We lived on a cul-de-sac, and after the heaviest winter snowfalls they brought in special plow/cranes to lift the snow into a tremendous pile in the center. Over the next few weeks, we kids had the most awesome time sculpting that mountain into a snow village. Much fun.

Something tells me that your predicament a bit less wondrous.:snowmaneek:
