Okay.....time to confess.

I usually read Reef Keeping's Top 10 wondering how people can be so weird. Well, now i have one myself: my first personal injury related to fish.

Yesterday i was siphoning artemia napulaii and while walking to feed them to the bangai fry, I tripped over a power cord. While falling to the floor, i spilled all the napulaii all over the carpet and broke by big toe. Luckily, i did not try to grab the display to catch my fall; else this could have ended up being really, really bad.

I guess these sorts of injuries are a rite of passage. I will send a note to Joseph Campbell's publishers :p

I feel for you and your broken toe !!! I broke my toe once, sadly, it wasn't fish related, I was arguing with my wife about an empty box and who was going to throw it out (we argue about silly things when married!). In a moment of madness I opened the front door, placed the box on the doorstep and went to punt it down the drive. Alas, I punted, missed the box, kicked the 4" oak door and broke my toe. My wife spent the next hours laughing as she drove me to hospital, told all the ER folks how clever I was, that I obviously have skill in kicking non-moving objects etc. I am not sure which was worse, breaking my toe or the humiliation that followed ! Of course, there was my almost cutting off two fingers with a razor blade algae scraper, I think that was told on another thread already !!!

I managed to scar up the back of my hand and top of my wrist pretty bad when I pulled my arm out of the tank a little too fast after being bitten by my clowns... caught the back of my wrist and hand on the plastic top brace...

still scarred!

man...reefing is a dangerous hobby...i gotta get me a safety suit for when im around my tank...i might want some safety goggles too... maybe one of my fish will try to jump out and poke me in the eye during a feeding....lol

My worst was when narrowly avoided electrocuting myself. :silly: My husband did not think it was funny, not even after the fact.

Donut, you might want to keep those goggles handy for fragging corals. They can squirt you with toxic juice. Seriously.

well....i got no corals...so il be alright.... hopefully my clowns wont give me any scars...lol if anything, the hermit might try to....haha
