Is my torch blowing around too much?

Maybe a wee bit too much but probably nothing worth getting your hands wet over. If the flow is overly excessive most Euphyllia sp. won't fully expand (or will only expand their sweeper tentacles in the case of frogspawn and hammer corals). Do you use an alternating/rotating flow device of some sort? I noticed what looked like occasional strong blasts of water from the rear/right, might just be the flow diverting off the tank wall or something.

How old is the specimen? The base below the tissue looks a little too white & clean for my liking. I'd check the tissue around the base every day over the next few days, making a note of where the tissue starts. If you notice that the flesh is receding at all (or worse: tearing) you might want to move the coral down a few inches away from any high velocity water flows. These corals should normally be kept near the bottom in a well-lit tank anyway, and mine could honestly care less about light as long as they get their heaping tablespoon of ground up mysis or silversides every night.
