Probably some pods. A good sign for sure. Check out this page and see if anything looks familiar.

Copepods are so small they are hard to identify by the naked eye, They are beneficial and desired members of a SW tank. The red spots are probably the start of some tube worms or coralline algae, Either way , they are not anything to worry about.

You will have harder things to get through....this hobby is not all science yet. Chances are something will happen that we haven't experienced yet, or dont have the answers too. The thing is that you cannot give up just because you have a set back or minor failure. You have to look at this hobby as like humans landing on the moon. There is still a lot of learning that needs to be done.

Hello JerseyGirl! ;) Glad things are coming along nicely with your tank. I used to stare into my tank and had trouble really getting a good look at certain things also, so I bought myself a magnify glass that has 2 lens that I can wear on my head hands free! Sounds really fruit cakey I know, but it opened up a whole new world for me. I can really see everything going on in my tank now that I couldn't see before! I could probably count the scales on my fish now. :rotfl: Anyway, I find that it comes in very handy when you really want to see something.
