Would be nice to have a Blog where members can put in information about their tank and update it regularly. E.g. when they put in new corals, fish equipment etc so much goes on in this hobby and it would be nice to log and share every experience.

i believe the Journal (http://www.talkingreef.com/modules.php?name=Journal) would provide that type of feature.

please check it out and let em know what you think. If it works decent i can rename it to blog or something else.

yeah.. right now you cant.. but i will look at adding the ability to use HTML, that way you can link images in the text using basic IMG tags.. you could also use the existing gallery, and just mention the link or album.. just a thought..

i will see what i can do to get HTML allowed int he journal section

Yes Rob, Please please make HTML work in all threads. I can't even paste my smiley central stuff in here at all. :( Sometimes I need more smiley options, ya know?

that was in reference to the old journal system on the old site...
if you want to link a smiley, you can use bbcode

[ img ]http://www.site.com/image.gif[ /img ]

there is also the regular URL tags you can use...

allowing HTML can be a real security risk for visitors and the server running the site, so im trying not to use it... if someone tries was to abuse it that is...

I just want it setup so I can copy and paste my smileys like I can at that other reef board... I haven't tried the img image tags... but the img src tag worked on the old site and not here....

Maybe I will have to drag the laptop out and try again.

you can copy the code, and replace the img src with the bbcode img tags..
