I have recently noticed hundreds of these tiny snails around my tank. I used to have three snails... and as far as i know are all dead... lol but anyway if anyone can identify these for me it would be most helpful!

I can't ID them for you, but anything that reproduces like that probably isn't good.

They look like Nerites. Nerites lay eggs all over my tanks. I never see them hatch but they must since my Nerite population is stable.

It looks like a colonista to me. They are frequent hitchikers on LR and are good grazers. Take a look here Project DIBS Forums - DIBSSpeciesPrices (http://www.projectdibs.com/forums/misc.php?do=page&template=DIBSSpeciesPrices) and see if it matches. If not, can you pull one out of the water and get a shot of it top, side and most importantly bottom so you can clearly see the operculum (trap door)?

wow. thanks for all the input, they do look a lot like most everyone's suggestions... and im pretty sure they are all good things to have in the tank, or at least not a bad thing... therefore, i will just leave them be. hhaha
