clowns, gobies (no mandarin), six line wrasse, blennies, firefish, etc. pretty much anything small that will not grow to big. there are all sorts of fish for a nano tank. really depends on what you like.

blennies like to jump, so just make sure you have a grating or a cover over the tank. I've lost two from jumping out! My mandarin as well!
I would recommend two clowns for a nano. they're usually hanging out in the host and enjoyable to watch, whereas many other small fish are darting/hiding all the time.
also a goby/pistol shrimp pair is a pretty cool combo to have in a nano

well my nano is very tall i dont know if that plays a factor in getitng the fish lol its not liek normal nano tanks its octagon in shape tall and not as wide.

for the octagon style tank, i would probably go with a couple of clown fish. maybe a couple of firefish also, but be sure to add them slowly. i would not introduce more than 2 at a time.

So many fish, so little real estate. I think that you will want a couple of clowns, you already know that you like them.

Well i do like them but my boyfriend likes them more which is why we choose them because he wanted them and now since this is my project i really want the tank to reflect what i like

I hear you. What do YOU like? It could be a kind of fish, but it could also be color, motion, interaction, etc, etc.

IIRC, those fish do not get very big. for a wrasse i would suggest a red flasher fairy wrasse.

once your tank is cycled ... clownfish are VERY hardy and will be fine in the tank. they are technically a damselfish if that tells you anything. BUT, you will need a better light if you want them to host in an anemone.

no you do not, alot of people think that they have to have one to survive, but they dont.

i would say between 2 and 4 small ones. any more than that and i dont think your bacteria will be able to handle it with it being such a small tank.
