OK, I'll see if I can post a picture or two.

I started this tank in Aug, 2007, my first salt project. I've got a HOB filter for circulation, a Remora nano skimmer, the new Solaris Galileo lights from Dick @ The Cultured Reef...

I went thru a bunch of what I think was Brookynella and lost my original fish in late Sept. I left it fishless for 6+ weeks, to let the spores die and because I was out of town for a week. I replaced them a couple weeks ago with a tank-bred Clown, a tank-bred blue-striped cleaner goby (?), and a pink striped shrimp goby who spends most of his time hiding with the candy-striped pistol shrimp. Two sexy shrimp, an emerald crab, a peppermint shrimp, several blue-legged hermits, three featherdusters, snails, a bunch of (I think) Stomatella hitchhikers... Everybody seems healthy, and the two tank-bred fish are curious and a bit of a pain when I'm trying to do something in the tank. :-) I did a water change today and the blue boy tried VERY hard to get sucked out the siphon!

I have two Crocea clams that seem healthy and are putting on plenty of white shell. I test and dose Cacium and Alkalinity almost every day. The clams and corals are really sucking it down!

Comments welcome!

Sue, that is a sweet nano you have going there. What do you think of your Galileo? I love my Solaris :D as everyone knows (because I say so every chance I get) and you can't beat Dick's prices or service.

Thanks! I really like the light. I'm having a lot of fun with the tank. :-)

I've only had the light up for a couple weeks but so far I really love it! I saw your reports, and send Dick an email about the Solaris. He talked me into the Galileo instead to save $$ on a tiny tank, and I'm very pleased. Both with the light and with him. :-)

Is your Solaris on your corner tank? I'm trying HARD to resist a 54 gal corner at the LFS right now. I keep thinking how glorious it would look as a planted tank, with about 50 cardinal neons and a few red & blue Discus and... Gack!

I don't NEED another expensive hobby!

Yes it is. I read afterwards that the Solaris is not really recommended for a corner tank but I am very happy with it.

I can totally see the tank you are talking about! A school of cardinals a corner would be cool!

You are NOT helping, you know! :p

Cool, I'll take a look at your corner. How long is your light? If I do a planted tank, I won't want to overdo the light, but... It would be fun to have a FOWLR and get some of the cool angels I've been drooling over. And a mandarin, and and and...

Here's my planted tank, *after* I trimmed it today! <no CO2, daily dosing with Excel and Seachem's ferts, lit with two Home Depot power compact desk lamps>

That is lush looking.

The maximum space for a light on my corner is 29" so I have the 24" Solaris.

Both tanks have been a lot of fun. Esp this time of year, when it's so cold and wet, and none of the Bonsai are doing anything cool.
