Has anyone tried this? Just wondering instead of trowing away excess phyto from cultures, just freeze them in ice cube trays. Throw a cube in the sump and way you go. Any info would be great.

I haven't tried this but, don't see why it wouldn't be better than tossing it out. Of course freezing it would kill it and I've heard that some filter feeders prefer/require the phyto to be alive/fresh. But we have all kinds of filter feeders that aren't as fussy.
