Hi Henrik and Martina, :welcome: to TR! We are being over run by Swedes!:rotfl:

Our family hosted a high school exchange student from Sweden a couple of years ago so your country has a fond place in our heart even though we have never been there.

Hej Henrik and Marina!

Tank looks great! Looks like you got the hair algae under control! Everything looks fantastic. I'll be curious to hear how you like the Zeovit filter and whether you see major changes in the corals.

i decided to remove all of my sand. So yesterday i was standing with my hands in the aquarium for like 12! hours.

All the rock was out of the tank so i could have some free space to work on.
I got almost all sand out, will take the rest when i do water changes.
So i have rebuild the whole aquascaping.

Some of the corals wasnt so lucky during this, some of them got smashed into pieces etc. (alots of frags, tiny ones)

I believe im statisfied atm. Just going to glue some ot the corals into new spaces.

Reefbaby.
About ur question on the zeovit, i will have to come back to that, cant really tell now when i have been doing all this. Also got some frags for u if u want. Small to tiny pieces of Acropora sp. Monitpora Capri (brown here, almost white at Ted), Montipora Confusa, Montipora Digitata. Acropora Enzmanni.

Hej Henrik! Martina told me about you re-doing everything! She said she walked in the door and you were standing with buckets full of rock and corals! What a pain. Are you going to put in new sand again?

Every time we do any aquascaping, we somehow always end up breaking some of our corals....so frustrating.

The frags would be great! I have some pocillapora and seriotopora hysterix frags if you'd like. Both of them are quite fast growing. Oh...also some fire coral if you'd like. I have grown to love this coral. It grows in a really beautiful shape.

yeah, im gonna buy living sand from Ted.

and hopefully im not gonna do this again for a while. phew.....

ur frags should fit in wery well in my system to.
fire coral, hmm. dont remember how it looks. but if im right they dont need so much lights? i may have the perfect spot for it =).

i will update with pics soon, just have to wait for the milky water to get cleared up.

This is what the fire corals look like, although this isn't a picture of mine. Mine had actually fallen into the back of my old tank and I'd forgotten about, thinking it was dead, but it had survived. It actually encrusts whatever rock it sits on and grows quite quickly. It doesn't NEED a ton of light, but definitely brightens up and grows quicker in better lighting. I would take care to put it onto something that you don't mind it encrusting, because it spreads all over the rock! I really like it though....

oh, well, not the way i imagined the croral, but let us try =).

heres a wery bad picture of the tank now, still milky water.

and alots of corals still standing on the bottom etc.

I like the aquascaping! I particularly like how the right side of the rocks are higher....kind of reminds me of big huge coral heads. cool!

Reefbaby
04-15-2008, 03:53 PM
by the way...the fire coral actually grows even cooler than that....and does have all the little hairs as well!

Looks great. I know how hard it is to do something like that, but it pays off in a nicer looking tank.

Fragswap you say, i might be interested too. Maybe we should try to get some people togeteher, been a while since last time.

oh quick throw me the tissues, another bow front.. :Dsweet effort MOS. I find my fire coral doesn't like the light much at all, because its perforated all over the outer shell for lack of a better word, it suffers quickly from standard build-ups. its funny though, its definately up there with the "ocean smelling" coral range.

Reefbaby
04-18-2008, 04:51 AM
that's strange that yours doesn't tolerate bright light. Mine has completely boomed since I've placed it up in the tank. It's developing all kinds of "hands" and "fingers" and at night, all the little hairs are out. The frags that I have lower in the tank stay more brown and grow much more slow. Maybe my T5 lighting isn't as harsh??

Marko, Henrik - let's do a frag swap when I get back! That would be great to set something up towards the end of May or beginning of June. What do you think?

Reefbaby
04-18-2008, 04:51 AM
by the way....I wouldn't mind finding some reefers to actually "trade" with, rather than trying to make money off of. Let me know what you think about this.

Moose of Sweden
04-18-2008, 08:29 AM
trading is always better ofc! Theres already to many greedy people in this world.

Yeah a swap would be nice! Lets have it at your place Christi, and lets eat some barbeque!!
Martina can do a nice marinade, so lets eat some loin of pork (it needs so stand in the marinade for like 12 hours) and swap frags!

Can't argue on this one. I think it's more fair to do so. Heck i have even given away some for free to people who don't got any corals to frag from, i know i will get some nice ones back in the future.

Oh yeah... almost forgot... Anyone care for a yellowish table acro?:D

You know I was just discussing the issue of selling vs trading frags. When I was a newb with nothing to trade I had a couple people give me a frags but I was always happy when I could buy something for $5 because not everyone would donate to a newb. I now pass out frags left and right to newbs just because I know how much I appreciated it. And the couple of people who gave me frags, just let them mention something in my tank and it's their's.
