My RBTA is splitting as I type. I just walked past the tank and noticed. Here are a couple of pics.

This is an hour later. The anemone's foot is usualy on the underside of the rock in the photo. You can see where the part splitting on the left is slowly being pulled down by the piece of foot on the rock on the left. It's slownly pulling down.

Have you had this anemone split before or is this the first time?

Well, turned out to be a false alarm. I swear it looked like it was splitiing, but this AM, it was in one piece and looking just like it always does.

I'll just shut up now and stop pretending I know what I'm talking about :)

I'm as surprised as you are. Did that not clearly look like it was splitting?

Maybe it did split and the clone is behind a rock or something?

Nah, looks just like it always has. I have no idea what it was doing, but it wasn't splitting :(

No new toy yet Bobby?

Mine did that several times. Then it really split when we were away!

Speaking of RBTA's, A couple weeks ago I got a real beauty from Diver's Den; it was spectacular (Note: "was").. It looked great for 3- 4 days, then started to involute and now it's all but gone. In the same 210 display tank I have a LT which is established and is the size of a frisbee. It doesn't fly as well though and keeps getting stuck on the roof. But anyway, I figure that tank params are good enough to maintain that LT anemone, so I assume that the RBTA should have also survived. I wonder what happend to the RBTA, or if I did anything wrong with it. Acclimation was by-the-book. The tank (near 400 gallons including all the accessory tanks) has great chemistries and supports SPS's and LPS's no problem. Also, I had the RBTA in a slightly lower light area after hearing from a TR Podcast that they like less light than the LT's. Any thoughts on this? Should I risk getting another? I wouldn't want to risk another $150 but I sure would like one in the tank.
Thanks as always. I love TR.

Did you notice if there was any damage to the BTA when you added it?

Mine did that a few times before it really split as well. Looks like a healthy specimen for sure!

Thanks. I wish it would hurry up, it's getting a little too big for comfort. It's nearly the size of a dinner plate when it's fully expanded.
