You mean nepthea? I don't have one, but they can be very attractive.

You both probably mean Nephthea. :)

I've had one for about 3 months now, seems to be doing OK considering I've found it very difficult to feed. Size M rotifers seemed to work but they're almost impossible to find, usually expensive (when shipped to Canada) and get consumed/lost quite quickly in a mixed reef compared to the more typical Size L rotifers.

I've relied on phytoplankton which coaxes out and feeds misc. zooplankton already in the tank, same as most people do with Sarcophyton sp. (toadstool & elegance leathers). I'm hoping this will be enough nutrition for it in the long term (in addition to light of course) given that microscopic examinations indicate they are quite voracious eaters compared to Sarcophyton.

It's grown but not as fast as I'd expect compared to other softies in my tank but I've trimmed it once, taking 2 branches off, and it healed insanely fast and produced new polyps on the stumps within days so I'm assuming its healthy.

OK, nevermind what I said about difficulty feeding. I just tryed an eyedropper full of common Size L rotifers on the 2 frags with the circulation turned off and I could see them pulsating and grabbing. Could be the parent colony was finicky last month because it had just come out of quarantine a few days. Stupid me, shoulda waited a week before testing foods. Size L rotifers are easy to find and I usually buy or culture them on a regular basis as they're a wicked food when you load them up with lots of phytoplankton - but I'm betting the parent colony would probably even take enriched baby brine shrimp if the newest polyps on these frags are taking rotifers.

Yes I have dendronephthea sp. and capnella sp. The dendro is purple and the capnella is a brownish tan and looks like a kenya tree leather. I would love to see a pic of yours! :D

It should automaticaly resize it. Where do you have the photo stored? Most of us use photobucket. It's free and easy.
