I have a pink finger leather has been doing great in my tank, until recently. I have a 100-gallon soft coral dominated mixed reef tank. I have a 150-watt metal halide with actinic lighting. Unfortunately I had to move my tank because we just purchased a house. I dedicated a day just for moving my tank about a week ago.
Everything went well with the move and all my inhabitants seem happy except my pink leather. When I removed it from my tank I didn't realize it had grown to another rock. When I pulled up on the one rock it tore a small portion of the pink leather. More than half of it is still attached to the one rock but it has not stretched out like it normally does. Before the move it would stretch out during the mid day lighting and at night it would droop down at night. Now it is always droopy. It has not lost its color. My question is would the tear have damaged it permanently and is there anything I can do to help it? This is a pic of it when I first put it in. I will take one of it now and post it later.
