Just yesterday, my carpenter wrasse annihilated my cleaner shrimp. Snapped him in half! Has this happened to anyone out there? I feel like everything is getting eaten in my tank, lately...

It seems to me that this is a bit unusual for a Carpenters wrasse to eat a cleaner shrimp. On the other hand, if the wrasse was not feed several times a day and in a quantity that satisfied his needs, Shrimp are on his menu. Too many hobbyists and most LFSs feed their critters only enough food to survive. That leads them to forage on their own, so, no it would not be unusual. If it were my tank I would consider feeding more food at a time and more often.
That's my take on it.
