Hi there -

My 125G has been cycling for 3 weeks without lights. I was given a 4-bulb VHO T12 setup with 4 Super Actinincs (FR48T12/VHO). I know that this is TOO much blue for corals (I think). They appear to be 110w bulbs (440w total, I think).

My question is - "What bulbs should I add/replace to this set up?" Should I replace 2 of the Super Actinics with Daylight bulbs? Should I use 10k bulbs (2-10K, 2 SA)?

Keep in mind that I am using 4- 48" bulbs, 2 to the Left and 2 to the Right. Should I have 1 each SA and 10K on each side?

I plan on LPS and softies for a while, but may eventually like to have SPS as the tank matures. Anemonies are in the tea leaves as well.

TIA for the advice,

Don

(This will probably all be replaced on the next 6 monts with a Solaris LED system)

If you're replacing the whole works with a Solaris in 6 months, why not just keep tough softies until then and keep the bulbs you are using?

I'd definitely swap out 2 of the actinincs for 10Ks. If it were mine, I'd probably swap out all 4 for 10Ks, but that's just personal preference. I think even softies would have a hard time under actinic only.
