It seems keeping cephalopods is becoming more popular. I've been interested in keeping an octopus and would love to hear a show about it. I am new to the forum and love the podcasts thank you for all your hard work.

I've helped care for two, but really couldn't add much. Everyone knows they are notorious for escaping, so I went to great lengths to contain them. One was the size of a plum tomato (head size) and crawled through 1/2" flexible tubing after removing the sponge and reducer to meet his demise. The other wound up on the wall about 5 feet from the floor after escaping from an acrylic octopus-proof tank. It never recovered and the guy who owned the tank and I never could find where it got free. So what I'd add is: they are even better at escaping or cramming themselves into small openings than you'd ever think! When it gets dark, they spend all their time hunting -which in the aquarium means compacting their bodies into places they don't belong.
A LFS just had one come in as a hitchhiker and I am really freakin' tempted. I have an empty 55, cycled, with LR, and a running filter system. They're asking $60 for a hitchhiker, and I'd have to really 'pod proof it, but they are amazing creatures when you have one behind glass.
Maybe I should try cuttlefish?
