Hi guys, new to both the podcast and the hobby!

I just got an RO/DI unit and hooked it up, this one came with an attachment for a standard garden hose fitting, i read through the directions and it said that the first 10 gallons or 2hours worth of water should be dumped, so it's running outside right now.

My question is, should i be getting more purified water or waste water? The red tube(waste) seems to be pouring out water like crazy and the blue(purified line) is coming out rather slow. Is this normal for regular use? Regular for the 'break in period'? i guess i just wanna make sure it's not hooked up wrong or something silly.

Thanks in advance!

you will get about 4 gallons of waste water to 1 gallon or pure water. this is a round about figure for most RO/DI systems.

I plan on expanding if this one does well and i don't kill it all. I'll probably end up like alot of you guys, huge fish rooms/basements. I can't stop watching and being amazed by fish and other creatures that inhabit both fresh and marine waters.
