The seahorse tank, whenever my parents let me start buying the stuff, will be about 55gallons, depending on what i can find.

IF my parents decide to let me start buying the stuff, i will be looking for the following critters...

'micro' brittle stars
chaeto
nerite snails
nassarious snails
turbo snails
queen or fighting conch, i don't mind wich type. preferably small ones
tubeworms, any time, but not christmas tree
zoos (the big colored polyp things, hehe) any color, non-stinging ones


i may add more later. if you have anything of the above for sale let me know with a price and quantity. but like i said i may not be able to get anything quite yet.


Progress:

I moved a few pieces of live rock that had plant/coral (whatever is on them) into a 15 gallon tub with a light over it. i bought 30lbs of rock, most of the stuff has died off now (it wasn't very cured when i bought it, cured).

i'll go check on that in a bit and maby get a pic of some of the stuff growing on it.

I've got about $75+ and more money coming soon. i had about $120 but i bought some roller blades.... >_>

i'm getting some new web security jobs too so i should be able to buy the tank before long.

i'll post the tank plans on here later on. but it will take a bit, i have to find the posts on older forums for the plans. :up:

fighting conchs are great, just know they stay on, and under the substrate, as opposed to climbing. they eat diatoms, film algae, and will even eat cyano IME. they stay smaller (about 4").

queen conchs, OTOH, get large (12") and WILL climb the rockwork and tank walls eating along the way. we have two queens in our reef now, and they do a GREAT job, but they're kinda clumsy and will dislodge corals on occasion.

all that being said, i love the job both species do for us.

yeah i knw the queens climbed, wich i think would help get the bottom and walls... of course a foot long conch on the side of your aquarium may not be very nic elooking to a guest, haha.

Nope they are fine... beauty is in the eye of the beholder... very interesting to observe.
