Hi all
Im upgrading from a 8 month old 46 gal to a 90 gal.
So far I put new sand in the 90 about 50lbs BR raw shrimp and has cycled for a month. Now I need to know how I should go about adding the 150 lbs LR
and fish from 46 gal to the 90?
Rob is there a podcast episode on this or will there be?

I would do clumps of the live rock from one to the other in week intervals. This will let the everything in your 90 slowly get up to speed without overloading it all at once. Leave the fish in the 46 to close to the end. The question arises of what kind of fish do you have in the 46gal. and how many?

I have 1yellow tang 1 hippo tang 2 clowns 1 mandrain goby 1 midea blenny
I dont think the tangs will deal with the stress for a week.

Do like I said above and as you are putting the rock in intervals I would put the fish in. The two tangs I would pu in towards the end along with the mandarin, you have to get your pod population up for him first. The clowns and the blenny I would start with. When you move the clowns move them together and the same with the tangs.

yeah, if you are cycling the new tank, just add the new rock at one.. let that settle and the tank calm down ass needed.. then transfer the rock from the old tank.. (assuming if you are going from a 45 to a 90 you will be adding more rock)

make sure you acclimate the fish to the new tank, since this system is different they will need the adjustment period
