I am wanting to put a nano reef in my office and I am looking for a nice sleek self-contaned unit and have looked at a few. I am experienced enough to put my own together but since this is in my office I want a nice "clean" look. I like the Aquamedic Nano Wave because of the lighted refugium but it is only 9 gallons and I would like one bigger. Any suggestions?

I have seen where people have modded their JBJ Nanocubes and Aquapods to have a refugium in the rear chmabers, this is especialoly easy if you go with one of the tanks with MH lighting.

I have a12 gallon nano that is all-enclosed and love it.

JBJ 12 gallon deluxe. I like this one... You can add a skimmer to it.

This one is nice but it does not have a refugium. Has anyone seen it? Would it be easy to add a refugium in the back?

Looks like a really nice unit, but a wooden airstone skimmer seems a little out of place.

Yeah but the lighting is nice. I actually have ran a 10g tank in the past with a skilter 250 modified with an airstone and it worked pretty well believe it or not.

I am thinking about getting this 28g when it comes out and then build an acryilic refugium with the same width and height to sit behind it and have it spill into the tank.

i think they are all aftermarket mods.

the new JBJ 28's have HQI's built in. as Rob mentioned, you can also get an aftermarket mod. i dunno if the LFS is doing the package, but they're currently selling a package with the tank and a Viper HQI.

as soon as the construction in my building is over, i'll be adding a tank to my office as well. i'm thinking it's going to be a JBJ 24, altho if the 28's come out by then, i MAY have to go for one if it's SUPER nice.

we have two "plug-n-plays" at home (a JBJ 12 and a 24) and i have to admit, they go up easily, and are VERY pretty setups.

besides the JBJ 12 and JBJ 24, we have an AP24 HQI and a JBJ 28. since the AP 24 HQI and the JBJ 28 have filtration compartments that are "open" at the top, it's very simple to convert the first or center compartments to a fuge by adding LR rubble and/or macro and a small light over it.

for the completely enclosed models like the JBJ NC and NC deluxe, the thing to do is take an x-acto knife and remove the black backing from the first or center compartments, fill with rubble or macro and light it from behind.

I have a JBJ NC12 DX in my office. It looks great, and gets a lot of attention.
