"Elvis" has gotten HUGE..
He's got to be 4 inches long. AND.. he's tough as nails.

Isn't he cool? He's a lot of fun to watch too. It's taken the "mantis fever" from me for a while as well...though....I WILL have a mantis soon. *Eyeballing Megan's mantis*

They are cool creatures! My brother used to have one for a long time.....it was my favorite in the tank.......and then one day it just.....vanished. Still haven't been able to figure that one out.
Seriously though that last pic reminds me of a poster to an old horror movie......

They are notorius escape artists. I have egg crate on my tank and he's pretty locked in. I had them as a kid and they got out all the time. They can live for some time outside of the water and they travel quickly. I found them days later, dried and dead, many 10's of feet away from the tank, in corners near bedposts etc.
I was stoked when that last picture came out. I did erase the corner of the tank on the left, using photoshop. The black background made it more dramatic than the black, with glass line in it.

Better late than never...
I feed him scraps of turkey, ham, fish, and greens. I also feed him sinking pellets and algae wafers.
