Does anyone know of any sites on the net that stand out in your mind as far as macro-algae sales goes? Most of the sites i have been to are out of caulerpa and chaeto isnt my first choice. Ive seen a bunch of theses macro algae "sampler packs" for sale with beautiful red and green macros. Are there any species that a novice should stay away from? Keep in mind this is for my seahorse tank.

Places to get macros

Florida pets (http://floridapets.tripod.com/)
Sealife (http://sealifeflorida.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=134)
exoticaquaticsandpets (http://stores.ebay.com/Exotic-Aquatics-and-Pets_Refugium-Algae-and-Mangroves_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ2QQftidZ2QQtZkm) ( ebay seller ) I've dealt with these guys several times.
I would avoid caulerpa ( too much headache ), Codium would be real nice for hitching

I LOVE my grape caulerpa. Looks wonderful. Fast growing so that it needs FREQUENT pruning. But that's what I'm after... more pruning = more nutrient export.

If you wouldn't mind waiting until it warms up a little I could send you some of my "prunes".

so would i be out of my league getting a bit of both the red grape and green caulerpa? I dont mind pruning, to me the look these two colors provide is enough to outweight the cons.

Renee, im going to have to wait until the end of march to put my horses into the main tank anyways, so if you want to send me some id be happy to pay for shipping. Just let me know.

I will definately save you some.... if any other macro are due at that time I can send you some clippings of that as well. I just removed a whole bunch of razor about a week ago. Different macros grow differently at any given time... sometimes the grape caulerpa is the winner sometimes the razor is the one taking off. My red grape hasn't done so well lately and I split it up amongst different tanks. Seems the hermit was having a good munch. So whatever I have I will send along snippets.
