Many thanks Rob & all at Talkingreef for the help in this addictive hobby.
I've been planning my main tank for many months, keep changing plan!!

Starting a 12in nano cube......7 gl( i know its small, bio load with be low & gives me something to play with for the moment).

Found this container that will give me another 1gl(every little counts),so decided to make fuge/filter that actually works!

Idea is water's pumped down 3in black tube(crytic zone i guess)holding coarse sponge & carbon bag, rises up main chamber, through overflow back into tank.
Testing shows it works & flow is good through 119gl pump.

Should i put just live rock rubble in main chamber, cheoto only or some other combination?
Have kept marine fish only for many years.

Any input on this project would be great.

Pic shows the testing stage, need some sort of filter to prevent overflow blocking.

Many thanks Gerry

Hey, neat idea! You should deffinitely use some kind of something on the overflow, especialy if you're going to have macro/snails/whatever in there. You coud always plumb a second (perhaps smaller) overflow for redundancy sake as well. What are your goals for the fuge, that will help determine what you put in there.
