Ok all is ready, I expect to have my new tank up and cycling within the next week or 2, the wife has ok'd the tentative budget:up:, and I have a general ideal of where I want the tank to head [mixed reef], however my problem arises in selecting livestock for the tank. I have a list of fish/inverts/coral/etc. that interest me, either from hearing about them on the forums, or simply seeing them in mags, LFS the problem is I've got enough on the list to fill 10 tanks the size of the one I have. I'm looking for a resource on the web, or even a book I can buy that has some info on marine critters, from necessary water conditions, to tank mates, to habits etc....does anyone know where I can find such a repository of info. Thanks in advance

Hi there,
The librarian in me could not resist replying.:) I suggest you take a look at the TR Library . The titles included in our library will be a good starting point and provide you with the knowledge you need to make informed decisions. The initial list was compiled from suggestions by members of TR and is being updated when new titles and recommendations become available. A couple of recommendations from the library:
The Conscientious Marine Aquarist: A Commonsense Handbook for Successful Saltwater Hobbyists. Bob Fenner's book is probably the first marine aquarium book anybody interested in the hobby should buy.
Eric Borneman's book "Aquarium corals : selection, husbandry, and natural history" A must have book to educate oneself about corals.
Reef Invertebrates: An Essential Guide to Selection, Care and Compatibility by Anthony Calfo is another must own.
You can view the library's collection via the TR Library link. Also, this forum is a great source of advice. The folks on TR are among the most helpful around and I have benefited numerous times from their collective experience.
I hope this helps.
Tourlou!

Sounds like you also want to narrow down the fish list. Instead of thinking about so many fish, try to think about accomplishing different colors and functions within the tank.
